Argos Tvs

I posted several months ago about wanting to buy a new tv with some vouchers we have. I'm looking at either Argos or John Lewis as that is where we can use our vouchers.

I want a 43" smart tv and am looking at a few all between 300-400. I've been holding off for any additional discounts for black friday, but i'm still unsure which model/brand to go for. I was looking at either the LG or Samsung ones they have.

Opinions?

yes I think they have that at argos too, cannot decide whether it will get any cheaper or not over the next month!

edited to say scrap that, out of stock in both stores.

buy from JL. IIRC you still get a 5 year warranty with TVs there.

i would only ever buy from JL or (more likely) richer sounds unless something was *significantly* cheaper elsewhere...

Personally I would want one that supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision as different content providers are backing different ones, although Dolby is winning out.

Most manufacturers are now supporting both (although not in this price point yet), with the exception being Samsung who do not support Dolby as they are the ones pushing HDR10.

From John Lewis in the sub £400 range the ones that support both are:
Panasonic - johnlewis/panasonic-...black/p5068811
Hisense - johnlewis/panasonic-...black/p5068811

Not many people know Hisense, but they are actually a quality brand.

I don’t want to jinx my tv but we bought a 40” flat screen Samsung in 2008 and it’s still working today. We’ve never had a problem with it at all.

i got my 37" samsung series 6 in april 2009 and yeah, its still working perfectly. shove a firestick in and apart from the large bezels you would assume its a current smart tv, not one thats nearly 12 years old
