as for using them in the parks, they are *generally* allowed on a lot of rides as long as you use the correct mounts (wrist/chest straps for example rather than attached to a selfie stick) - search here for loads of similar threads about where they are allowed. some rides (especially coasters like rip ride rocket at universal) dont allow them though.

Some great info there Wayne. How is image stabilisation on the SJCAM range?

I'm on the lookout for an action camera as we've decided we want one for our October trip.

cant say the image stabilisation is any better or worse than a gopro, personally i use them mostly strapped to static things for filming (live bands, that sort of thing) so havent really tested them thoroughly...
