I was recently in the process of doing a bit of CC churning, applied for 5 cards in a period of 2 months and cancelled 4. This had an affect on my score but not enough to stop CC companies throwing credit at me. You only need to worry about your score if you are needing credit.

Took them all and will cancel 2 off them once I meet the minimum spend
