More than that as they would need to put a program in place to do the charging at the point of cancellation. While they are programming that they can cancel all FP+ booked against that booking.

To be fair you do pay a premium to stay on site, so Disney have to provide some incentives to make it worthwhile - same as upgrading your flight, you have to feel like you're getting some perks the economy passengers dont get. At least the fast passes are free, unlike Universal.

There already are many other perks - reduced transport times to parks, free parking, airport transfers, EMH etc. Even free dining. I wonder if people would stop staying onsite if the 60 day window was reduced to 30 (or the offsite window increased to 60). I don't think it would actually make any difference as for most people the FP booking window would not be much of a factor in deciding onsite/offsite (note: Dibbers are not "most people" ). It's not like onsite stays were unpopular before the new system was bought in!

The line may be grey and blurry, but I think that has definitely crossed it. There is an actual, monetary cost associated with the physical magic bands and therefore that should not be allowed.

I dont get the free airport transfers as I fly in to Sanford, but the cost of staying onsite has risen dramatically over the last few years, and without the free dining definately wouldnt be an option. Waiting for April to book for next year but worrying about the cost as it is starting to get to the limit of my budget.

Again, there are plenty of people who would take advantage of this loophole. There are some who would be even more likely to book and then cancel if they knew they’d get free Magicbands.

I’m not condoning it btw. But people will do it and not see anything wrong about it.

Surely Disney know this can happen? It wouldn’t take much to close the loophole.

Haha. Not that long ago there was a thread where some were arguing that the primary reason many people stay onsite is because of the 60 day fastpass window.
