Advice please - 2 days Miami or split

This year we are flying into Miami for 2 nights before driving to Orlando. People either seem to love or hate Miami. Our flight does not land till after 7pm so I booked the Homewood Suites at Miami Airport for the 1st night, planned to drive to see Ocean Drive and South Beach on our 1st full day and have booked Hilton Fort Luderdale for that night.

I am having 2nd thoughts and wonder if I would be better just booking 2 nights at Miami Beach. I am also worried about trying to find parking and leaving our luggage in the car in Miami. Not sure if we should change or not. Please help. Thanks.

Parking is expensive in South beach, why not taxi/uber to south beach, stay 2 nights and pick car up on the way to Orlando?
Don't really need a car in south beach, lots to do on foot.
