We really enjoyed our first stay at AKL. We got a partial savannah view - basically a full view just with a pen below. Was a great room on 4th floor, miss seeing the giraffes and zebras. DD did mention Universal/Cabana bay before we went but was very happy with disney when we were there and didn't mention Universal.

Did you make any room request before arrival? Not sure if to request a location or not.
