Pirate or standard CBR? Booking today

A pirate room is £300 less than a standard for our stay next August. I know beds are smaller, but any other disadvantages?
Wouldn't bother with pirate, except it is cheaper.
Booking tonight, which would you go for?

Pirate room cheaper at CBR than standard, booking tonight

As above. We save £300 if we book a pirate room, but beds are quite small, and not bothered about theming.
Is it worth paying extra for a standard room with better locations etc?
Hoping to book tonight.

I'd go for whichever is closest to the resort facilities.

Thank you, we are literally sat in front of the computer waiting to book, so as I wasn't getting any answers in Accommodation I thought I'd stick it on here too for a speedy reply. Many thanks

Pirate rooms are the furthest away from all the facilities. I could never work out why those rooms were more expensive. I agree with Donaldfan, book closest to the facilities if thats more important to you. It's worth the extra £300 IMO as the resort is HUGE and that would be a fair walk each day if you wanted to use the bar and main pool etc...

I would pay the extra £300 tbh. In all honesty I would see if a preferred room was available, the resort is huge and when we went people were struggling for busses. It was September so “quieter” times. It was also 2016 so I don’t know if the refurb has helped this.

If it was a pirate room or an extra £300 I’d be looking at other resorts to be honest. If your heart is set on CBR then I suppose you need to consider whether £300 is worth it for a better room and location? The pirate rooms don’t interest me but it’s all that’s available for our dates so we went with CSR.

Worth remembering that Pirate rooms are right next to the Skyliner, also has the Spyglass grill which we actually liked more than Port Royale. The main pools are still good, and obviously a bit of a walk but apart from them we didn’t really use or miss Port Royale.
