Depending on how old your kids are but my 2 love the shopping, you'll find all the usual, converse, vans, adidas, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Uggs etc at the outlets but if they are after hollister or Abercrombie you'll need a trip to the malls, we found Florida mall was best for ours, the mall of millenia was more upmarket designers. You can get some serious bargains but it all depends on what your after, eg last year I got 2 pairs of Nike free runs for around $50 for them both, they cost £60-£70 each here, Michael kors watch $100, same one was £229 here, regular priced items were around same price in $ as we pay in £ here so still saving around 1/3rd.
Just to add I hate shopping here but I do enjoy it in Florida

There are qualified few things I like to buy in the State because they aren't available over here, or are much cheapee.

We tend to fir the shopping around other activities rather than devoting a day to it, so will go on our way to an off site meal for example.

We usually do some shopping but don't devote a whole day to it. Get there for opening, shop for a couple hours and then go to a waterpark. We do this a couple of times at least.

We don't have shopping days, although we do generally shop a couple of times per trip - only for a couple of hours at a time. With a couple of notable exceptions, we haven't found things to be much better value than at home for a long time now (unless you want really lurid trainers of course). We like a mooch round the shops, but don't go with any high expectations and don't usually end up buying much. I sometimes wonder if we're doing it wrong as so many dibbers seem to shop far more than we do.
I did laugh at the post which suggested you might get Americans in Target and Walmart on a Friday night

Totally agree.
Depends whether you like shopping or not - I don't do it here and I don't want to do it there. I would also say to steer clear of any of the cheap denim outlets "World of Denim" or similar - we have bought there in the past and they have turned out to be seconds (or maybe fakes) - twisted seams, uneven hems etc, not noticed at time of purchase

PS. Hi Mike, I fondly remember our Wishes cruise

De go shopping on many days over the course of the 14 day holiday (we don't go to Disney bar mnsshp) so we go and explore out of the touristy areas of Florida. We're going to Tampa premium outlets as it opened just after we left last year. We like Brandon mall and ellenton outlets due to how much quieter it is

Me too! I love it. I always find a reason to go to the Walgreens just down the road every day for essentials!

Are the discounts really worth a day out of my holiday? None of us see shopping as a fun activity but if things are seriously discounted, it could be worth it.

By discounted, I mean a good bit cheaper than I can source at home (online or otherwise). At least 30% cheaper.
Why does it have to be a whole day? Why not just a couple of hours?
