I’m fighting it this year as I know it’s just the usual pressure that gets put on Christmas
Dh wanted the new Xbox which isn’t going to happen so he has 3 small gifts and will get the Xbox at a later date
Dd (21) has trainers and makeup
Ds didn’t want anything but has new trainers and will get 2 online games on the day
Anything else I get at this point will just be stuff that won’t get used

I agree that online companies must be stretched this year. The companies have dispatched the orders, its Hermes that are failing to deliver. Hermes are pretty hopeless in our area at any time of year, so there was no chance of them coping with such an increase of parcels this Christmas 😔
Hermes are very hit and miss . Our delivery lady is great but sadly because it’s so busy she isn’t on our route again until after Christmas, her cover driver is useless :confused. Can’t wait for her return

My two are 18 & 22 and had more than ever this year ..but we’ve not been away this year so saved more than normal . I say I’m finished shopping and buy more stuff 🙈

Granddaughter is 2 we bought all her presents months ago , then my husband decided she needed a mini version of my sons stock car , so he had that hand made and it arrived yesterday, not cheap but she’ll love it

So budget well and truly blown .

I commented on another thread a couple of days ago that I always do this! Set budgets say I’m not going mad this year then a few days before Xmas it all goes out the window and I panic buy! So far my last minute gifts include 2 aftershave sets (one for DS and DH) an electric foot warmer for DH and an infrared spirit level for DH (didn’t realise they existed until I saw one on spoonful of sugar’s vlogmas yesterday) that’s arriving from Amazon today... oh and I bought BIL a footstool that looks like an elephant 😂🤣... someone please stop me lol 😂

Ha every year.

We would put their presents in 3 piles... "oh no he's got more than the others! "

Off back to shops🤣🤣

I have been tempted- even this afternoon I was in two minds whether to pop to Argos. The awful non-stop rain and the fact that i’ve already slightly over-spent 🤫 stopped me. The items I was going to buy was 2 ‘Style Stations’ for DD’s to put their hairdryers/straighteners in, and a Shark cordless handheld vacuum (as my G-Tech has stopped working and is out of warranty &#128580 so it wouldn’t have been a cheap trip either.

As extra surprises (after deciding we've spent enough) I've just booked for DD - tickets for the musical Bedknobs & Broomsticks which is doing it's premiere tour next year - and for DH an overnight stay and dinner at our favourite spa hotel for a couple of months time.
The best thing is I get to share both treats (methods in my madness )

I always go thru the presents a few weeks before, to make sure there isn’t a startling difference value wise. I try to make sure there isn’t a big difference between the number of presents. My dd and ds both in their 30’s tell me I am silly. I grew up in a family with two sisters and were always treated the same, not so in my husbands, where he and his 2 brothers would have a gift but their younger sister would have sack fulls. This year my ds and dil have had a new back door fitted in November, which I told them they could not open till Christmas Day 😀 and my dd had a chipped tooth, so she has had some dentistry done.If I see a big difference I will panic buy.

On Monday I ordered a portable football net for my dgs from argos, it arrived this afternoon, was really impressed with their delivery service. Was also sent a text to tell me it would be delivered in 3 minutes, so was able to distract dgs when it arrived
