Mobile Daves DVC USD PayPal advice

Hi,

I’ve just rented out some points via Daves and now have USD in my PayPal account.

I need to withdraw these to my uk account, but think there are fees etc to pay.

Has anyone done this and can let me know please?

Yes there are transfer currency fees, but depending on what you want to use that money for then there might be another option without incurring any fees.

If you are going to transfer your PayPal dollars to your PayPal sterling acount and then transfer to your UK bank so to pay your 2020 dues then there's a short cut as you can use your US dollar PayPal account to buy Disney dollar egift cards through Target online.

And with the digital Disney egift cards you can pay your dues either online or by calling member services.

And any remaining dollars left on the egift cards can be spent at Disney, so for paying table service tips, your room bill, park tickets, merchandise, almost everything at Disney.

So let me know if you want to use your PayPal dollars to pay your dues and I'll post details.

Merry Christmas.

Thank you.

No my dues are already paid up.

Any ideas on the fees? I don’t suppose it really matters as I have to get them into gbp.

Do I just do withdraw as usual and they will convert?

I tried withdrawing $1.00 from my US dollar PayPal to my UK bank and it quotes the following.

Withdrawal amount £0.74 GBP
Converted from $1.00 USD
Conversion rate: $1.00 USD = £0.742560 GBP
Fee Free; You’ll get £0.74 GBP

So that's a rate of $1.351 to £1.00.

I think today's rate is around $1.30143 to £1.00 so that's around a 3.75% difference and that's the fee quoted on PayPal for a currency conversion fee at...

I set up a US bank account and linked it to my paypal account. If the dollar rate is bad then I transfer it my UK account. I think the exchange isn’t bad if transferring it to your own there is no additional fees.
