Hawaii to Hawaii cruises
Hi everyone.
I am a cruise newbie really and know nothing about them. I know NCL have a cruise goes from Hawaii, round 4 islands and back to Honolulu (I know this because I have put a deposit down for September 2021! ) BUT after reading review of NCL I am worried I have made a mistake. Are there any other cruise lines that start and end in Honolulu - I don’t fancy a 5 day sail before hitting land like some of theM I have seen - I want more time exploring than on sea! |

The NCL ship is the only one that can go around the islands without visiting any other country.
We took the cruise a few years ago and loved it! True the food is not fine dining but the ship is fun. The excursions offered were great, the people onboard fun and good company. We went tubing the ditch, biked down a mountain after watching the sun rise and went quad biking in the Jurassic park filming location. We spent 5 days in Honolulu first. We would do the cruise again anytime. We have cruised, Cunard, Princess, Thomson, Celebrity and p & o. Edited at 09:58 PM. |

The cruise will let you have a taste of all the islands. I’ve not done it, but have been lucky enough to spend a few weeks in Hawaii over the last few years and for me the absolute joy of Hawaii is ‘being’ there. For that reason (for me) the cruise would be a distant second best.
If you just want to see lots over a short time, and can live with the cruise not being five star, I’m sure it would work out.

My mother and grandmother did this cruise about 10 years ago. The crew is different from other NCL ships because it doesn't leave US waters. It is a unionized US crew that just don't have the same service ethos as most cruises. This was most noticeable with their room steward. They really enjoyed the cruise though and didn't have a problem with the food. It really works to see the islands instead of spending most of your time at sea.
