Disney 16 to 30 sept 2020

Was looking at flights to orlando with virgin but most of them are via.
So got to thinking fly direct to New York and have a few days there. Fly to orlando for 2 weeks at the parks.
Drive to miami and the keys for 3 to 4 days and get a direct flght back from miami

The only thing I would be wary of in your plan is that mid-September to early October is peak hurricane season and the Keys are particularly vulnerable. We've not managed to visit the Keys yet because the one trip we planned and booked everything had to be cancelled due to Irma in September 2017.

Sounds like a great plan, if I could get time off in September it is something I would do.
Yes there is the hurricane potential but so long as you keep an eye on this and are willing to stay an extra few days in orlando if needed then that shouldn't be an issue. When hurricanes come through disney are very helpful if you need extra nights accommodation and airlines appreciate the need for changes. Realistically they will not be flying from miami if it is not safe to drive there anyway.
