What is your unusual family Christmas tradition ?

So what is it that you do pretty much every year that is relatively unique to your family on / around Christmas Day ?

You probably know I like to keep our Christmas tree 🎄 up as long as possible ( set a new record of 27th March last time )

but we also have a kind of odd tradition Xmas morning.
We have pancakes
The large ones everyone else makes once a year on shrove Tuesday
I am chief ≈≈≈≈≈≈ - if anyone else has a go it normally ends up on the floor or the ceiling

So what’s your unusual Christmas tradition ?

We have indoor fireworks! Although not this year! I forgot to order any! (Plus they stink the house out)!

We don’t have any roast dinners during December so we appreciate our Christmas dinner more.

Stay up to till midnight and open our presents. Dinner is usually served at 12pm. It gives me plenty of time to enjoy all of the deserts

We freeze a full amount of Christmas dinner for each family member. We have it for tea in January on the first day back at work/school. Always a winner winner Xmas dinner and takes the edge off that day.

That’s a really good idea and one I’ll be using

Not really unusual but on Xmas Eve we order from different take aways and have a big feast!

Omg tree up til March?! I’m itching to take mine down on Christmas Day, it drives me mad with how much space it takes up.

We have lots of little presents (couple of pounds or so each) under the tree which are from the Christmas tree. Every so often from Christmas Eve onwards they tree is giving and someone collects a present for everyone to open. This goes on for several days after Xmas until all the pressies are gone! How I got into doing this I have no idea - especially as there are usually no presents for me 😂

We have to put all the presents out once they are in bed and say he’s been, they are 17 and 23 and hoped to put them under the tree tonight but I know they won’t let me. They go to bed after us so will have to do it in the morning before they get up! Always have tinned sweetcorn with Christmas lunch and any roast we have.
