You can also reduce the cost a bit if you have any spare BA avios points. We managed to get a free stay at club level using our points a couple of years ago.

We pay for RPR halfway through our holiday, even though we stay in a villa - we just suck up double-cost for the villa and RPR for those nights. Might be cheaper doing it that way if your holiday spills over into the later part of August, rather than adding it on at the start, before you get to your villa (not sure if that makes sense?!)

There are some good prices on Travelbag - I’ve never used them myself but other dibbers have positive things to say about them.

We also overlap with our villa stays - just pack an overnight case and head over to RPR for one or two nights.

I do know what you mean. We doubled up last time. But we’re going the latter part of July and was intending to tag the two extra nights at RPR at the end, 5-7 Aug. And to be honest with the prices for RPR being what they are now I can’t really justify doubling up as well. That said we’re also planning on stopping a night at Clearwater and so won’t be able to avoid double costing on that.

Would be an odd decision to expect people who stay at universal to pay for it though!

Yeah, that won't make much difference then - I think the end of July to about the 15th August was one price and then it dropped after that.

I just can't believe it's twice the cost of what we paid last August! I expected it to be dearer but not double the price. I don't think we'll be able to justify going at that price, which is such a shame as it's our favourite part of the holiday

Myamericaholiday was cheapest when I've just booked and I got hotels.com to price match.
£332 1 night in July, 2 adults and 2 kids.

OK, I’ve gone with lovinit’s recommendation and booked 2 rooms at RPR, for 2 nights with MyAmericaHoliday.co.uk for a total price of £1,237.94. This if for the 5-7th August 2020. There’s 6 of us going, 4 adults and 2 kids and so I’ve gone for 2 queen rooms, 2 adults and 1 kid per room. So that works out at £618.97 per room, £309.48 per night. Hotels.com were quoting a total price of £1454 for the same dates and room types, so I make it that I’ve saved £216, which I’m pleased with. And at £309 per room, per night, I think that’s pretty good given some of the prices I’ve seen mentioned.

Can I please double-check that name of the website that has been mentioned here? Is it myamericaholiday.co.uk or myamericanholiday.com (note the difference of america/american!)

Both sites exist, whcih is why I'm querying it!
