I’ve given up with their pricing now. August bank holiday Saturday Travelodge £44 , as we fly from the South terminal we just hop the shuttle from the hotel direct to the correct terminal doors rather than get across the road and drag the cases on and off the monorail . It’s actually just as easy if not easier.
I can’t see any benefit in holding on to see if PI drop in price. Travelodge is slightly nicer too as it’s more recently renovated, some of the PI rooms are very tired.

From what I have seen, PI have free WiFi and Travelodge charge which then gets more expensive for our dates in the travelodge

We stayed at the Travelodge Gatwick airport (Central), I thought it was excellent value for money, lovely rooms, very quiet, decent meals and a filling breakfast. We used the shuttle to the airport for our flight and that was great too, no complaints at all, as it drops off at each terminal.

eta - I recall though, after I'd booked the Travelodge (which I did as the PI's on airport were all too expensive in comparison) the PI North, and possibly one other PI on airport, came down in price and would have been comparable.

Sometimes if you leave your booking in the shopping basket for a few days, they sometimes give you an incentive discount to carry on with the booking.

Still looking for 29th September. Price has risen the last 2 days from £112 to £119. 🤔 Prices seem to be getting a bit silly now.
