Hi Hombody1976,

Both my wife and I have the Halifax Clarity credit card, which we only have used for non-sterling payments, i.e. euros. Having said that, we're not seasoned travellers, in fact, we have only gone to DLP!

We also take cash as a backup as well as for less expensive purchases. Generally, if a transaction is under €20 then we pay cash if over then it goes on the Halifax Clarity credit card. This works well for us as it stops loads of small transactions going onto the credit card account, but everybody is different and this might not work for you.

I suggest that you get the Halifax app and set it up for your Halifax Clarity credit card and make a test purchase in the UK to ensure that it's OK.

It's best to pay off the Halifax Clarity credit card in full as soon as it's due else the interest rate will be a killer.

Regards,

We have the clarity card and used it in florida last year. Make sure you put a mobile number to the account as I'd read reviews that people had payments declined. I took my plan abroad with us so coukd use it like at home. When we first used the card it wasn't authorised. Halifax sent a text to my phone and I had to confirm it was us before it went through. Haven't had trouble since though.
