DLP Halfboard dining plan - Worth it?

Very tempted by the current half board dining plan offer but wondering how worth it others have found it, particularly for the table service restaurants. From what ive found quite a few table service restaurants are included with a set menu but I cant find exactly which ones these are or the menus. So would others consider it good value?

Go onto DLP guide site, there’s a full list of all restaurants on each plan with links to menus. Look out for either plus or premium bowl pic on menus to see what your plan will cover. Hope this helps.

Hi guys,
I am staying a DC and have free half board but I am sure last time I was there that you couldn’t get a buffet breakfast there? So do I have to go into the parks to use the breakfast voucher? Can it be used for a snack instead later in the day ? Thanks

At Davy Crockett you can either pick up a breakfast basket (contains Baguettes, Croissants, Jams, Nutella, Fruit Juice and Milk) from the collection point near your cabin or you can have a hot breakfast in Annette's in Disney Village, but this is only served from 10am.

We had the half board In December! We stayed at Newport bay so it was the plus option. We found it pretty good- we had breakfast at the hotel, this was your usual hotel brekkie. We usually did EMH then walked back to the hotel around 10am. We did the Buffalo bills show as one of our tokens and chez remy as another! I was particularly excited for chez remy as it gets rave reviews but we found it fairly average with a rude server. The food options are safe with it being a set menu- even fussy eaters ( who eat steaks ... not sure about veggie I can’t rember) will be fine! In all I’m glad we had the half board as it released some of the stress of looking at menu pricing! Not sure DLP will ever be a foodie resort tho lol!

A horses for courses. First, would you normally eat in disneyland park or eat in the village? Would you budget frugally or eat what takes your fancy? Look at the restaurants and see which ones take your fancy.

Now, if the restaurants are all on the same "level" as your hotel - I.E. standard/plus/premium then yes, the dining plan will work out. If you eat below the level then no it will not. If you eat predominantly above your level then most of the time it breaks even but you get breakfast in your hotel as a bonus.

It was one of the few times staying at the DLH worked out cheaper for us as we WANTED to go to California Grill, Inventions and Auberge - normally three big hitters so the premium plan easily saved us money (which we spent by upgrading to the DLH... )

Just wondering, are you restricted to choosing from a set menu at applicable restaurants with the Plus or can you select from al la carte and add to cost if necessary?
I've looked at a couple of the menus and while I can see some set menus, it doesn't mention dining plans that I can see. Also, is it normally starter, main and dessert included, plus drink?

My only experience was chez remy. There was no other menu, they had the premium option which has different choices on it and you can pay the difference if you want to upgrade to that menu!
We did have all courses and a soft drink included on the plus dining though yes ! 😀

If you're using the Plus Plan as it is designed the restaurants available to you have a set menu, marked on the menu with a little plate with plate cover on it. The Plus one is red. Though the menu says no drink included, that's not for meal plan users, that's for diners choosing that option when dining regularly and paying the bill themselves. It's 3 courses each time.

You can opt to eat a la carte, but then your meal plan turns into a cash value. Once you have hit that cash value, you just pay the extra. Using it this way, you don't get a drink included, you'd have to pay for that as part of the bill.

If you dine at a Standard buffet, you'll still get the free drink, but you won't get 'change'. So no extra to spend elsewhere if you decided to use it at face value in say a Premium restaurant, or a la carte.
