Not exactly right - Budget automatically includes spouse without the need for additional paperwork and/or clubs to join.

If you take your own car seat make sure it will fit properly in your hire car. Not all car seats fit in all cars. Our DD fits car seats for a living and you would be suprised how many people struggle to get a seat to fit safely. She has even had people change their car because they couldn't get a seat to fit.

I just booked car hire via manage my booking on BA and it says all insurances are included. in the t&cs it does say about the roadside plus, and a few other additional options, which i expect they will try to sell me at the airport... I think it did ask to add on child seats though, but that is not something i would pay attentions to...

It took me a while to find the info when I was looking but car seats are payable when you get there and its a whopping 12.99 per seat per day so I would either take your own or buy a booster seat over there.
Car seats are compulsory to age 5 so at 6 & 7 they don't legally need to be in a seat but personally I wouldn't be happy not using one.
I am planning on taking a cheapy booster seat with us for the run from the airport then getting high back booster when we get there as that is what ds currently uses. Walmart have some around the $50 mark
