There was a TV show once I think it was maybe Mary Queen of Shops? Where she went into one of the sofa stores (SCS maybe) and got rid of the silly pricing and sales for a straight forward all year round pricing. They did it for a while but sales must have fallen as they went back to the constant sales model. Maybe people just expect a sofa to be on sale now so if it's not they don't buy?

what size are you looking for? argos currently have a 50" for £249 which is one of the best prices I've seen so far.
last couple of years we've picked up 32 inch ones from Sainsburys in their black friday deals for between £100-£130

Probably 32-40 inch- after something cheap! Just needs to be smart and get Netflix etc so we can start in the dining room and move into the living room without losing what we're watching. £100 set would be awesome!
Have a nice 55 inch Samsung in the living room already.
