I am not a regular Eastenders viewer, dipping in and out from time to time. However, I have been keeping an eye on it recently and was watching this evening.
In my best Mary Whitehouse mode I have to say I found the level of violence pretty awful. Phil’s attack on Jack was pretty scary (I appreciate no-one can act Psycho like SteveMcFadden ) but as this episode aired at 7.30 this is well before the 9pm watershed.
A lot of the recent storylines seem to feature violence, Martin Fowler was also beaten up recently.
Does anyone else think Eastenders has become too graphic?

I'm like you just watch it from time to time. I thought the same about yesterday's episode, was a bit graphic for the time it was on. Wouldn't like my 9yr old to see that.

I love Eastenders. Only soap I watch.

I haven’t watched it for years. It’s banned in my house! I’m sure OH would like to watch it (he loves his soaps) but if I do much as get a whiff of the signature tune while he’s in the lounge, I’ll stand at the door and give him ‘the look’. The TV soon gets turned over! It used to be that it was a constant shouting from start to finish. I hate it with a passion!
