My sister went to Hayman Island for Christmas and new year it just re opened as it was damaged in a storm. She said it was better than Hamilton.

Looks like I’ll be going to Melbourne with work in April so I’m hoping to tag on 4 days and do something, not sure what yet though.
If you are near the wine valleys and like wine I'd thoroughly recommend a wine tour. We had a driver our first day, went to the Barossa Valley, went to Penfolds and blended our own wine. Went to several others too. Our other day we went to McLaren Vale. Really interesting to see where the wine comes from, and to taste too of course

Thanks. My sister suggested the Barossa, she’s planning to fly down and join me.

If you can get the right flight times, consider just doing one night at Uluru. We found it v touristy and full of flies!

Is it not a bit far for one night? Flights are about 3 hours? Should we skip it and spend the time elsewhere or is it worth the trip?

No seriously don’t do one night, I have never heard of anyone doing one night at Uluru. It is definitely worth the trip, it is iconic and it is not only Uluru to see.

Yes there will be flies, you get a hat with corks on strings , or get a hat with a little net if they are bad. The flies at Uluru are nothing compared to the flies in WA during summer. It is Australia, you will encounter some creatures.

Just to add, don't take sunscreen with you. It's dirt cheap out there. I brought back a couple of huge pump bottles to take to Portugal in the summer!

And it’s way better than anything you can buy in the UK.
