Port Orleans Riverside - Room Location

Hi,
I booked a preferred room at POR for July and just wondering which building to try and request to stay; any recommendations? any ideas when I can do it through the MyDisneyExperience ? I can't seem to find the option or I am better off ringing them up?
Any advise would be most grateful.
Many thanks.

Take a look on Touring Plans they have a a grwt map with all the rooms. You can filter by room type (preferred, Royal room, garden view etc) you can also see the views from the rooms.

It depends what you want the most? Do you want to be near the food court? Near a pool? Near the first bus stop?

We were in building 24 last time. Its the furthest from the food court but closest to the west depot which is the first stop. It also had a small pool.

Next time we're requesting building 26 as we didn't use our resort mugs as much as we'd have liked because the food court was so far away but we loved being near the west depot as it meant we always got a seat boarding the bus x

We had a preferred room one year. Whichever building looks towards the food court. Choose ground floor looking at the food court. We had this and it was 1 minutes walk to the drinks refill machine.

We've been in 27 and 14. All four of the preferred use the same quiet pool. 14 nearer to lobby, main pool etc. 27 and 18 nearer to West (first) bus stop so good for the morning buses. There's not much distance between them-perhaps a minute or so extra walk from 27 to the lobby but it's a lovely walk along the river.
I tend to request upper floor and a quiet location away from the stairs. X

What’s the best way to send the request? We are in POR in July and would prefer an upstairs room, I know we’re in Alligator Bayou as we have 5th sleeper garden room. Any suggestions as to best block in AB for 4 adults would be gratefully received too 😊

As a family of 4 we were in building 85 Magnolia Bend which I thought was a great spot given it wasn’t a preferred location. I didn’t request the building but when doing online check in picked higher floor and I think there was a corner room option which meant we had 2 windows rather than 1.

This is exactly the block we would like. I’d also like upper floor and a corner room if possible. Did you find location ok for buses, food court and pool?

Yes we found it really well positioned and the East depot was good for buses, generally quiet. It’s a walk across the bridge to the main pool and food court but both close by compared to some other locations. The quiet pool was even closer. We really enjoyed the resort.

If you haven't already discovered portorleans/ have a look at their site.

Re room requests details can be found here

portorleans/room-requests.php

We always listed it in order of preference, so building 37, upper floor. But we book a garden view room which gives us the highest number of room choices.

We have been allocated a building via text before we checked in and we went to the front desk and they changed it for us. So we got the just opened after refurbishment building 37. It is our favourite.

It is a beautiful resort and you shouldn't be disappointed. We like the upper floor as it lessens the number of people walking past your door.
