POR and AOA

We are staying at POR standard room in April and last time stayed at AOA Little mermaid room. We are only staying for 2 nights before moving offsite so not a massive issue but I remember when we stayed in AOA last time the walk from the room to the pool / front desk being really annoyingly long! Esp if you left something at the room and had to pop back. I've heard that POR is a big resort also (but we chose it as my sister needed a 5th sleeper for her family). Anyone know how comparable the 2 resorts are? Will I be lumbered with another long walk or is it worth maybe trying to upgrade?

We’ve stayed at riverside and never really noticed a long walk! Maybe it’s where our room was located but in all honesty it was fine! You could always request a room close to the lobby/bus/ pool! If you don’t want to walk at all have you looked at FQ next door! It’s ment to be the best resort for short walks between places !

thank you I have heard POR has a more relaxed feel than AOA so perhaps that will help We wanted to go for POFQ but we decided to stay on the same site as my sister. I will try and put in a room request but if not hopefully the walk wont be so bad

To guarantee proximity to the food court and front desk at POR you should book a preferred room location. These and the Princess rooms are closest. The furthest rooms are a decent trek away.

If you have a look at this map here of POR we stayed in building 37 on the upper floor, so from just above where the 3 is for 37 taking tat path from our door to the food court door is 6 minutes, and we don't do a fast pace.

It is beautiful and maybe the beauty of the place distracts you from the walk but I don't think it is far. You can put in a room request for buildings close to the food court if you want to like 16, 17, 28 and 26 depending on your room category as 28 and 26 won't have any standard rooms.

We stayed at POR for two weeks and absolutely loved it! Lovely resort. We managed to get a free upgrade to a preferred room, I don’t think I would have spent the money on it though, we were just lucky to bag an upgrade.
Most evenings we sat by the pool as the kids played and we ordered pizza a couple of times to have sat around the pool, heaven!

Port Orleans Riverside is a lovely resort. We were in building 38 and it wasn't far to walk to the food court about 5 mins. The whole resort is lovely to walk round especially at night. We always used the quiet pool rather than the main pool. I think there was 5 pools in resort. Our room had the 5th sleeper and was a garden view although we only booked a standard room.

On the map, we were block 36. we asked to be close to food hall - it looks a lot further on the map than it actually was!

It was only 5 minute walk. Plus it had a large quite pool and laundry block, hat was a bonus, as they main pool could get quite busy so and a lovely way to spend an evening after day in parks.

We had bus stop very hear too. The only small negative is if going to park from food hall (or vice versa) you couldn't really take your refillable cups unless you took them to the park...a real minor thing.

Lovely resort.
