Car Hire. Alamo direct or Comparison site?

Hi there , we are still to confirm our car hire for our trip in September . I was going to use a company off a comparison site until recently when i read a few things on here about insurance / petrol .

The price i have been quoted through a comparison site is cheaper than going to Alamo direct , my worry is that when you book these cheap packages that you get hit with extra amounts when you pick up the car , for example the extra insurance that you need ?

The difference is only around £25 , is it worth paying the extra to book with Alamo direct , for piece of mind and this SAVETIME thing ?
Also , is there anything extra to pay at the deask , is likely that i won't have any dollars on me at time of pick up

you could book with Virgin, you will get an alamo car and use Savetime,it will be cheaper!

For comparrison, I looked for a standard SUV, with Alamo brits £482, with Virgin £312.00 ( I used the same pick up/drop off times & dates on both). You will also get the same isurances etc.
