Whats everyone's thought on the safari, is it better to do at night or during the day?

What time would the night safari start and is it on every night?

First thing in the morning. Like seriously, as soon as you get there! That's when animals are the most active, when the sun is at it's highest they tend to stay in the shade/sleep.

At night the lions are more active (obviously) BUT you can't see much.

We do both (and sometimes another during the day as we go more than once to AK)

Always see something different each time.

How busy are they, can you use a fast pass on the safari?

First thing in the morning FP it. Make it your first thing to do. Done it several times but like most people say when it's hot like us humans they seek the shade.

I had an early morning FP booked but I changed plans for that day and then I couldn't find any FP availability whilst I was there.

One day at lunchtime I just spotted it had a 15 minute queue so we decided to go for it. It was midday, 33C, no clouds and I thought we wouldn't see anything but we saw animals in abundance.

We did both last year and I would do the same again as they are quite different experiences. Best thing about the evening safari was that the lions were up and about. The male even gave us a roar as we went past.

Surely there's no need to fast pass it in the morning if you make it one of your 1st stops
