If you are eating in the main dining room, you do not have to order just one starter or dessert... you can have two. Our DSs loved this as it allowed them to try lots of different foods.

You can board earlier than the time you are given ... we arrived just before midday.

Thank you, my daughter will be in her element when or if I tell her that. We were hoping we could board earlier it is good to know the likelihood is that we can.

It was our first cruise and we did feel like the new kids in town

Our original boarding time given on the app was 3.00pm. When I logged into the computer it allowed me to change it to 1.30pm. We arrived before midday and was onboard at 12.45pm - no-one said a word about the time.

Interesting when we disembarked at 9.00am ... there were people arriving with suitcases in the car park ... I think they would have some wait though.

We paid for the soft drinks packages ... again, we didn’t realise you can order the drinks at any bar, just carry your Seapass with you everywhere

Don't pay for the ships expensive trips, wait till you get off there's the same trips for half the price at the port , ask other guests if they want to share taxis , and you don't have to pay the $15 pppd tips that are added onto your bill . You can have them removed on day 1 and pay who you want to tip

This may work on other cruise lines, but it's all sorted on DCL as you have the same dining team and room ninja. If you want to tip extra, that's fine of course and if you want to tip others, you can try (depending on their role will depend if they can accept it or not).

I would not advise anyone to remove tips - it's their wage generally so if you remove them, they don't get paid. Like it or lump it, it's cruise standard.

We also removed the tips on our RCL cruise - at the same time I collected three envelopes. My dollars were then shared with the three staff members who had made a difference.
RCL do get paid a wage and depending on the position will determine the hourly rate.
