Sticky camera

Need some help with my dh Sony camera .
He’s not used it for nearly a year & has kept it in a camera bag . He left a couple of silicone bags in the camera bag with the camera & they have stuck themselves to his camera & have left the whole camera sticky .
Has anyone got any advice on how we can clean the outside of the camera .
We have tried a baby wipe, adhesive remover but it’s made it worse .

Not entirely sure but I always find WD40 great for glue-type residues, like when you peel price stickers off things like plates, and it always leaves glue no matter how much scrubbing and fairy liquid you put on there

is it that soft touch/matt coating on it? if so, i think that's your problem, the contact with the silicone has sped things up, and its turned the coating to a sticky goo. i've had several things do this over the years (i try not to buy things with that sort of coating on anymore) - the only way to sort it is to completely remove it using something like isopropyl alcohol and a lot of elbow grease to take it down to a smooth plastic layer

Rubbing alcohol? Its used to remove the stickiness of gel nail polish and a small amount does a great job.
