You're doing the right thing by coming on here, first time I went without knowing about the DIBB and I think we went to every park on a busy day

With regards to starting uni or Disney, I would check out the busy day guide and see if that helps, I've always used it when we have gone for 3 weeks and its never let me down.

You're best bet is read through the posts on here, I guarantee you will get some help and inspiration.

Also ask questions, so many friendly people on here who are always happy to help.

Personally for us we have to start & end the holiday in MK in front of the castle. Like if we don’t see that castle then we aren’t really at Disney. Equally for us there’s no better end to the holiday then standing in front of the castle watching the fireworks.

That said I’d definitely check out the busy day guide it’s been incredible helpful for us on our last 2 trips 😊

OP. I think a lot depends on when you are going. For example if you are heading out in under 3 months time then you need tons of responses now.

However the post above nails it for me as long as you can spare the time. Read tons of threads on here ref dining, FP's when to go to each park etc etc.

Notwithstanding the above the very first thing I would do is set up an Excel spreadsheet with all your days listed. Then start filling in with your thoughts. For example:-

Day 1. Fly
Day 2. MK and in the evening dine at X
Etc etc

The big win for you is you already have the trip sorted and booked. That's a huge starter for ten.

Thanks for the quick replies, I will definitely be using the guide. It just seems so overwhelming and I don't want to feel like I'm running around like a headless chicken when I get over there lol

You still haven't said when you're going (unless I missed it). Also, are your children boys or girls? Do you have any plans to do anything else other than universal and Disney or just sticking to those? Are waterparks of any interest to you?

You wont' be running around like a headless chicken, you're on here and you will get to know everything you need. It can seem overwhelming to start with, but once you get into it, you'll be fine.

With regards to disney, definitely check busy days and definitely plan your meals according to where you'll be. Book in advance if eating at disney else you'll be wandering round in fits of rage.

I fly 2nd August so not planning on doing anything till at least the sunday. We have got tickets to a few water parks and we are planning to maybe do the everglades if we have time. I also have a car hired and will be looking at a few 'days off' inbetween. I have 1 boy who is 5 and a girl who is 11.

Oh also if you have 14 day tickets but there 3 weeks, you need to remember that they will expire on day 14 after first use (although I think Disney expire on day 15 technically) so you want to factor this in when scheduling.

Yeah I did think about that hence the reason of trying out the everglades towards the end of the holiday.
