Disney Skyliner... no air con?!

Just read that the new Skyliner pods opening in September won't have air con. Having been to Alton Towers recently and been on their cable car system it gets proper hot in there and even closes when it gets too hot. How are people going to cope in the heat of Florida especially if it breaks down?

Yes, that is one of the reasons we have decided we will be giving it a very wide berth.

Weve been on cable cars in madeira and it was hot but they had wi dows near the top that open, the Disney pods look very similar won't they have little windows, they are high up near top of pods so not a danger?

They do have little windows at the top but I think they will get hot.

They are meant to combine a reflective glass with passive cooling system (read vents). If they are stationary they will get hot I imagine.
It’s been boiling hot here the last few days and even sat on the Busch Gardens train was almost unbearable.

I was really disappointed when I first saw they were building the sky liner; It’s ugly and feels cheap.

I wish they would invest in making the monorail a real transportation option, feels much more Disney and kids(And some adults) love seeing them go past.

I think it looks quite cute. But I definitely am not getting on it and would feel a lot safer on a monorail.

Don’t think they look cheap and have been manufactured by dopplemayr (spelling?) They are a top ski lift company, the finish / theming of the loading bay at Hollywood studios is brilliant.

Heat - as long as they don’t ‘squash’ folk in for seating and standing, it should be ok when moving (remember it never actually stops). I however would also prefer a train / monorail system.

We saw them in motion all week And they move quite steadily. There’s no pausing of the main line while people get on / off.

I think the stations look nice and well themed to their location. The international gateway one is very different to Hollywood Studios as it’s more in keeping with the world showcase.
