Standard Room NY Hotel v's Golden Forest SL
Hi All
We (me, husband, and 2 boys) are hoping to book a 4 night stay in January 2015 and with our budget, the best two options for us are either a standard room in New York or Golden Forest in Sequoia Lodge. So I was wondering what would be the best option... The pros for NY seem to be... Closer to park Hot breakfast The pros for SL seem to be Lovely theme No hot breakfast, but snacks and hot drinks during the day (I know there is option of hot, but we dont know how much it costs) So for those with experience of both... which one would you recommend? Thanks in advance :-) |

In January, the Golden Forest rooms will have a hot breakfast selection, and it's not much further to walk than the Hotel New York. I would definitely go for the Sequoia Lodge option personally - I have stayed in both hotels and it is our favourite of the 2, especially in winter as it has a fab bar area with huge log fire

Hello
Is SL really going to start offering hot breakfasts, it's the first I have heard of it. Is this because they are stopping the character breakfasts in the Gf club Lachelli |

We have stayed in both but not the gf rooms in sl, personally NY is our favorite hotel, it is a bit closer, always seemed less busy, less of a queue for breakfast and if characters come v little queue. Swimming pool is lovely, restaurant is v nice. Having said that SL is more themed.

That's what we were told when we queried it - the characters will be removed from 12th November and a hot breakfast will be offered instead. This will only be for guests staying in Golden Forest rooms though - the standard continental buffet will still be served in the main dining rooms.

Wow that's great news, it makes such a difference tackling the parks on a bigger breakfast.
I just wish Disney would give more info of what's what on the website. There is such a lack of info on the DLP websites compared to the one for WDW |
