Overnight in Miami

We are travelling down to Miami for an overnight. Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay. We are going to St Augustine and have booked ourselves into a period house so would like to stay somewhere that is modern or quirky whilst in Miami, and any recommendations on what to do. Some have mentioned Little Havana which we fancy.

We've stayed on Ocean Drive, in the Park Central. Lovely, quirky art deco hotel.
Gotta say, St Augustine to Miami/Miami Beach on an overnighter is absolutely crazy, in my opinion. At least 5hrs each way. Where's the time to "smell the roses"? Each to his own, mind!

Sorry, should have said. We are staying in Orlando but no Disney this time, just little road trips. Thanks for your hotel info though.

Oh, ok! Mount Dora is not too far and quite relaxing. Tarpon Springs, just above Tampa on the coast is a "Greek" community with lots of greek restaurants and millions of sponges on boats by the harbour. Surreal really! Enjoy!

We visited Mount Dora on our last visit in 2017, lovely town. Definitely thinking about adding Tampa too to our list of to do's!

We stayed at Loews Miami Beach a few years ago. It was modern, Art Deco, clean and lovely staff. Great pool, although it’s so deep in the middle I have to stay near the edge. It’s on the beach and the shops/restaurants are right outside.
