Delta flight booked through virgin Atlantic

Hi, we have delta flights booked through the virgin Atlantic site for dec after seeing the news reports over virgin we are a bit concerned that if anything happened to virgin we would loose our flights with delta as we booked through the virgin site, can anyone offer any advice as to whether this would happen or would they be ok as long as delta stay in business, thanks

I’m wondering this aswell, although our flights are with Virgin Atlantic, I’m hoping if they do go bump that Delta will pick up the slots. I’ve noticed on our TA website the same flight is listed as both Delta and Virgin?

We have booked with Delta September 2019 for 5th July 2020 direct from Man to MCO on Virgin. Delta will not do anything as they say the tickets have been issued by Virgin. The flights codes are DL.

You've booked a code share flight. You'll (hopefully) be on a Virgin Flight, but have paid Delta.

So based on this, our delta flights booked with virgin should still go ahead if virgin go bust as they will have been ticketed by delta.

The only non-stop flights from Manchester to Orlando are operated by Virgin Atlantic and Delta codeshare with them. Delta do not operate an aircraft out of Manchester to Orlando - it means that if Virgin go bust then there will be no flights. It doesn't matter if they are ticketed on/by VS or DL .

Whether Delta would re-route on their service via Atlanta from Manchester we don't know. Re the last sentence please accept my apologies my mistake I forgot that Man-Atl was operated by VS.

To my way of thinking if you paid Delta for a flight that is a code share with Virgin then your first port of call if you need a refund is Delta not Virgin.

You didn't pay Virgin!

As Delta are not in great shakes think they are trying to pull a fast one!

We've booked with Delta, Man to MCO via Atlanta ... UK flights are operated by Virgin, by Delta from Atlanta to Orlando.

To see who issued your ticket look at the long 13 digit e-ticket number.

If it starts 932 your ticket was issued by Virgin

If it starts 006 it was issued by Delta

If it starts 057 it’s Air France
074 is KLM

If your flight numbers start with VS regardless of what airline is operating that flight, If virgin go belly up then there is a 99% chance that your tickets will be null and worthless.
