1st time onsite advice - 1 or 2 bedroom villa options

Hi,

Hope you're all staying safe and well in these strange times!

We're in the same boat as many others on here who've had holidays cancelled recently. We usually go end of April/May but thinking of waiting till Sept 2021 to give things time to get back to some sort of normal.

To make next year more special we're planning to give onsite a try for the first time and hoping to give the free dining a go if available.

We usually have 3 or 4 bed room villa so don't wan't to go back to a hotel room holiday.

It looks like it will just be 3 adults so would a 1 bedroom at OKW have plenty of room? Are the chair beds in the livingroom decent enough for a 2 week holiday?

Ideally we would love a 2 bedroom villa but there seems to be a massive jump in price. Would anyone recommend any other options?

Onsite is all new to us so any advice would be appreciated.

Edited at 02:29 PM.

We stayed at OKW in a 1 bed villa. There were 2 adults and 3 kids. All 3 kids slept on the sofa bed! They loved it! It was comfortable. We all loved the place to be honest!

Thanks for your replies.

I think we will go for the 1 bedroom villa. Just have to wait and see if there are any dining offers for next year!

Our adult daughters voted the sofa beds as decently comfy too

You get SO MUCH space at OKW

Just to note that last year, the DVC properties (OKW, SSR) were not available to book after a certain date in September (can’t recall exactly the cut-off date), but may be worth bearing in mind.

We were hoping to book SSR when we went last November, but nothing was available.

Have to say that we were very impressed with the one/two bed properties at SSR when we had previously stayed there. The one bed had a massive living area with a large sofa bed, and was more than adequate for three of us (DD was 18 at the time). We also preferred SSR because of it’s easy walking distance to Disney Springs.

Thanks! I'll take a look at SSR as well. I'm hoping to get booked up when/if free dining is announced.

I've been wondering this for a while! We were looking for SSR for October next year and couldn't figure out why neither that or OKW was showing yet it does for earlier in the year.

I presume that's because it's high season date for DVC owners so kept for them?

We must be in the minority here as none of us have ever found the sofa beds at OKW comfortable but you can get a mattress topper from housekeeping which does improve things.

You will definitely have plenty of space.

That’s what I had heard. We last visited SSR with the free dining back in 2016 when we went in August, but unfortunately unavailable last November.
