Cottage websites

At very short notice I’ve been able to take a long weekend (my first 2 days off since new year!) and we want to make use of it by going somewhere. Preference is a cottage around Bamburgh or Northumberland and we looked on cottages.com but there is nothing, which is perhaps not a surprise given the short notice and everyone staycationing.

Are there other cottage websites worth trying or other ways to find something?

Ta, Sykes looks a good site but had nothing for us. We’ve just had to go for a static caravan instead as there was so little availability at this late stage.

Note - searching for “Cottaging Northumberland” did NOT help.

OP I see you’re sorted, but take care with Sykes, they’ve not shown themselves in a good light during this crisis, right up there with Virgin I think 😢😢

We are also having trouble finding anywhere. We found a lovely cottage with Sykes and went to Devon last week, and DH has another week off at the end of August, but there is little to be found on any website. We also camp, but there’s very little in the way of camp sites too. We have searched for cottages/caravans/houses/etc. For all 5 of us, and as a family of 4 just to see if we could squeeze the little one in a shared bed, but still no joy.
Good luck!

Anyone who wants something a bit different. We booked last week and really struggled to find anything. We are staying at Rhinefield Aoartments.
They are beautiful right in the middle of the New Forest. They are in they grounds of Rhinefield Hotel whichvsur part of handpicked hotels. Its lovely having all the hotel facilities but the comfort of a home.
We booked through booking.com but they are on TripAdvisor as well

Ooh, we stayed at the Rhinefield a few years back. DH had a gold card, so we got to stay a weekend for free- however, we ended up making a complaint, the guy next door was having a “rough” time and was very vocal. It was an amazing hotel though 😂

We had a lovely few days in a great cottage in the Cotswolds last week, our dog loved the massive garden too. Booked through Character Cottages who were good.
