We are going in just under two weeks. So looking forward to it.

We are staying in a cottage for a week near Llangollen, which is not in the park but on the a5 between border and snowdonia. Got this for 655 for a week.

This is a re-arrangement of our original plan to stay in several locations without kitchens. we were due to stay at the rooms above whitewater active in llangollen, which have views of the river dee.

Still doing our activities but decided we want our own kitchen facilities, but if you dont need that the rooms looked lovely.

afterwards we are spending one night in glan aber bb in betws y coed (the one bb i booked that wasnt cancellable). I can give you a review of both within a month if thats helpful.

Coed Gelert holiday cottages in Beddgelert. Stayed loads of times, lovely clean cottages and they are encouraging different arrival days to allow for thorough cleaning.

Beddgelert itself is beautiful, plenty of places to eat etc.

Llanberis is lovely and is the town where you can get the train to the top of Snowdon. Or have a look at Glanrafon Fawr where they have a 6 berth caravan and 3 bed cottage to rent. Beautiful place.

We love the area round the Mawddach estuary. Our favourite place to stay is Graig Wen cottages, we've also stayed in their yurts, and the guest house which is called the Slate Shed.

OP, are you sorted yet?

Cottage Bwthyn Clyd a mile or so outside Llangollen was just off a5 but in really quiet location, close enough to town for shopping at Aldi, and Llangollen was really lovely. Cost us 655 for a week. Great views over the valley, and on a quiet farm so sheep and horses, but not a noisy or smelly farm if you know what i mean. Was so lovely i want to go back.

Glan Aber in Betws y coed was ok for one night, but basic. The Courthouse which is on a side road so a bit quieter and next to the river looked lovely, but is a bit pricier. Nice town but quite busy with tourists (Llangollen touristy too but not as busy).

Hope you manage to sort something nice. D

I have just booked a lodge at Gimblet Rock with Hoseasons Jo. The site overlooks the beach and it’s not far from Snowdonia.

Mariechez, if you get chance (and it’s open) Pontoon is a fab place to eat and it looks out across the Marina, literally a stones throw from Gimlet Rock
