Same title company, they didn't seem to have much of a clue when I was asking about wire transfers from the UK, I guess it comes down to luck as to who is dealing with your contract. Thanks for the reassurance though, I definitely need straightforward too

Haha I had no real clue what I was doing. I signed up with XE on advice from here easy enough, then just filled in the details from first American which they sent me when it was time to pay XE did the rest no problems and a good rate it may well have been a wire transfer but I’m none the wiser 😄

I think XE and Hifx are now the same, I used HiFX and the wire was received within an hour of my instruction. Always double check is it going as a wire and not ACH though as the funds will bounce back with most title companies as they cannot accept ACH for some reason.

Thanks everyone, we have gone with XE and the person I spoke to on the phone was so lovely. Now I am just waiting to hear from the title company that the funds have been received - fingers firmly crossed that all has gone well!
