We got some rubber ones from Costco for the very same reason. Its a white ago now so I can't remember what they cost but they have been great They are rubbery/cushiony rather than the spongy type.

Just check the thickness, some of the foam tiles are very thin and flimsy.
Ours are quite thick and robust, actually used for children’s play areas! It did cost a few bit but our gym is fairly big 👍🏻

Don’t know how thick you need but stable mats are really hard wearing and last for years. Amazon do a good selection

Do you need them to protect the floor from banging weights down on it? My husband does Olympic lifting so bought some heavy duty ones so he can drop weights if needed. If you need that I'll ask him what they are?

We've got martial arts mats, something like this martial-mats/ and used 3m removable carpet tape to stick them down to a laminate- they don't move at all!
