Boarding groups - what help can CMs offer?

I've read a few times about standing near Guest Relations etc. in case you have problems - but what help can CMs actually offer? If I miss out on a group because of MDE glitching (which it's done for me every day this week), can they help with that? I can't see how they'd know it was the app glitching and not just me being slow or doing it wrong...

They can look at your account and see if it failed, but it the app had an issue before updating, then they often advice you to uninstall and reinstall the app.

Hopefully it moves to fast pass before I go in october. This whole boarding pass thing sounds like a pain.
