Where to look ?

My son who's 17 wants a car, vw polo or corsa , or vw golf etc he's not taken his test yet so there's no rush but I don't know where to look, we want a private seller not one on finance. Every where I look tend to be cars from garages with finance.

If you have the cash, you can pay the cash price. You don’t have to take out finance.

Or am I misunderstanding something?

F.book has a lot of second hand cars, local papers.

The cars with finance options seem overpriced.
I'll get my son to check Facebook then thanks, I'm not on it , forgot about local papers.

Son spent ages checking prices on auto trader. He eventually bought his Vauxhall Viva from a Vauxhall dealer but he found it on auto trader. He paid cash though, you don’t have to have the finance. The garage will try to push it because they make more money on finance sales.

He took his insurance with Woop. He insured it as a learner which is a fair bit cheaper than once you have a full licence. The price was then fixed for 12 months.
