Cancelling Virgin Reward Flight
Hi - can anyone advise what happens to your miles if you cancel a reward flight, and how late you can do this please. Do you get them all refunded?
Any fees for cancelling? Thanks

I'll probably be doing this as we're due to fly 2nd may but I also used a credit card upgrade voucher that was due to expire, wonder if they'll credit my account and extend the date?

The miles are returned to your account if you cancel with more than 24h notice. There's a fee of £30 per ticket, not sure if they've relaxed the rules on that in the current situation

This is from an email i received the other day from Virgin.
In order to give you added flexibility and peace of mind, we are waiving change fees for bookings made before 4th March 2020 for travel between 1st March 2020 and 30th April 2020 (including Flying Club redemption bookings). Travel can be rebooked between 9th March 2020 and 30th September 2020*. Steve |

It's alright them waiving change fees but what can we change them too because no doubt there will be no reward flights available later in the year?

Thanks all - our flights are not till the beginning of June and hoping to wait and see for a little while yet before we make a decision. Very disappointed that we may have to do this but at least we can go another time. The only thing that won’t be there next year is the Motley Crue gig in Jacksonville that we have tickets for !

Does anyone know what happens to the fees/taxes? Are they just lost?

You always get a full refund of the miles and all of the taxes/fees that you paid less a £30/£35 change/cancellation fee. At the moment they’re waiving the change fee.
