I was on their forum, and had many happy holidays with them, and went their first class for my 40th birthday, 13 years ago. Miss the forum

We went early September if I recall. It was also the time when the banking crisis hit and the recession began! We got some of our currency at $2 to the pound! Things certainly seemed good value! We had flights booked a few years later with monarch then they stopped doing long haul and we ended up going on Norwegian that was a newish airline I think offering flights to Orlando!

Not on the forum, but flew with them a few times. Used Sunshine first a couple of times. Did a last minute fly drive trip one year for £149 per person including car and taxes.. Always had great service..

Ah, this brought back memories. We booked our first trip in 2007 for September 2008 with TCD. I remember obsessively reading the forums at work (on my lunch breaks of course!) and bought the Brits Guide on people's advice on there. I was so excited! Then they went bust the morning before we were due to fly out. Took months to get the money back too. But still remember the buzzing planning feeling

We went with them too, but don't think I ever posted on the forum but I definitely lurked. I am sure we refuelled at Bangor not Gander when we went.
The year they collapsed we were going with the excel arm to Greece and had to rebook. Ended up with a better trip... |

I was a member, same username, loved the forum. I remember Toady from Wales too, avid poster.
Sad day when Excel Airways went bust and the site was shut. A few tried to keep it going under another name, a labour of love. We booked TCD through Teletext, how modern were we! |
