Cancellation help? Any suggestions please?

Hi,

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions please!

We have a 9 night reservation at AKV from the 19th November to 28th November this was to see dd who was meant to be on the CRP at EPCOT and tacked onto a transactlantic cruise!

The cruise was cancelled a couple of months ago by the cruise company and yesterday we heard that Disney have cancelled the CRP programme

so dd not going.

The reservation has 54 points from 2018 and as we have a Dec use year they expire on the 30th Nov. The rest booked from 2019's points.

If I cancel most of the days leaving 3 over thanksgiving (25th, 26th and 27th) that would be 60 points? Should I try and rent these as a confirmed reservation? Or pick another 3 days to equal just the 54 points? Not even sure how to do this!

Who do I use?

Anything else I can do with them?

Plus I have a reservation in March using 2019 and borrowed 2020 points? If I cancel the Nov reservation what happens with the 2019 points can I still bank them? how does this affect the borrowed points from Dec 2020?

If I was you I'd try to bank as many points as possible.You can still bank the 2019 points used for this November and you'll have until the end of this month to do so.

Think I'd rent out the rest to the American market with the option of points for rent or confirmed booking. Being as it's over Thanksgiving there might be interest but more likely you'll get people asking for short bookings sooner rather than later. I'd try one of the FB pages or maybe David's.

Not sure what you mean about your March 21 booking - did you borrow points from Dec 2021? If it's 2020 points then they're not borrowed. Might be best to speak to MS to re-allocate your points and try use the points you are now banking for that if poss.

I think the Thanksgiving 3 day reservation is possibly the way forward. I would be calling member services to modify the dates (don't worry about the names for now) and have them make sure the oldest points are being used for the 3 days. Then advertise it to the US market through one of the brokers.

You should be able to bank the remaining 2019 points as you are still within 3 months of your year end. Ask member services though they may be able to re shuffle the points for the March ressie and put the borrowed ones back but not sure how flexible they are being now the resorts have reopened.

I need to ring MS I think and talk it through with them and see what they say? I find a December use year really difficult to get my head around as we don't get this year's points until the end of the year!
