Renting points in the future

Ok

So i had rented around 150 points for this year.
I refunded everyone due to Covid 19 and all those points went back into my account.
I was wondering how renting will be going forward.

I know to keep the payments until after the trip is complete.

Thanks

Do you mean that your last sentence is your solution ?
Can see that being problematic, your last priority when you get back from holiday would be thinking about paying for it IYKWIM & what recourse would you have for non-payers? They would have already have had the holiday. Also any cancellations outwith your Banking window leaves you with the possibility of points that can't/won't be used.

I think the OP means to keep the payments in the bank and not spend them until the booking has taken place in case of refunds. Rather than to allow the renter to keep the money in their bank until after the booking.

It’s tough as what would you do if the points come back and you couldn’t use or sell them on for those that cancelled

I wouldn't be surprised if more members looked to do more transfer of points to other members rather then rent points to non members. Of course, you can only transfer regular points (not banked or borrowed). But with the transfer of points the transaction can be completed in less than 24 hours and you don't have to worry about a renter trying to change a check in or check out date and don't have to worry about a pandemic coming. Once the points are transferred it is done. Of course, most members only like it when a 3rd party handles the transfer so they protect everyone. The 3rd party can hold the payment from the person buying the points. Then once the transfer is completed and member has confirmed they have the points they can release the funds to the other party.
