Personally I'd not do bog dinner day 1. Keep the breakfast then spend as long as you like in mk. Then swim/rest afternoon. You can always go to park pm if you feel up to it. But equally boat to Disney springs for qs may be more appealing if you are tired. I'd keep you dinner options qs day 1 if you've already had sit down breakfast.

We usually do AK on the first day as it was always an early finish. We are doing the same this year but it will be a longer day due to ROL so we are hoping to take time out during the afternoon and pop over to AKL for a nosey and a rest from the sun and crowds.

By about 2pm my kids (18 and 15 last time) are desperate to jump in the pool to cool down (we go in summer) so for us making them stay at mk til 5.30 would be miserable but we do go back to the resort and go back out to mk later, I'd probably want a slightly later adr though.

Thanks all, we've not done Disney since 2009 when the girls were little (we had naps every day then), this has taken 18 months to save for so I want the maximum out of it 😂
We have so much to cram in I'm not sure I can fit it in on another day! Will keep checking & see if any other BOG dates pop up if not will keep it.

yes, definately don't give it up until you find another one you only have to give them 24hours notice if you want to cancel I think, so you can keep it right up until you go if you can't get another

MK is always our day 1 Park and we are always done and need to leave after the afternoon parade. Ten trips done and kids now 15 and 18 and this hasn't changed for us! We have a TS lunch at Crystal Palace at 1pm too which breaks things up. So for me, if you can swap that ressie to another day, I'd do that.
