Alternatives to airline food

Boots sandwiches! We buy 2 or 3 packs of the tuna mayo sandwiches at only £1 per pack and a bottle of water each. This does us for our breakfast at the airport and then there's something left to eat on the plane if we don't like the lunch or the tea. The last few flights the lunch has been good, but with a choice of cheese and onion or chilli chicken wraps for tea, I'm not surprised these nearly always get left!

I also can't stand airline food and will be staying overnight at Gatwick. I also don't like salad, or pre-packed sandwiches as they have butter or whatever on them and usually mayonnaise (why mayonnaise?) and I can't stand either. So the day before I go I'm going to nip into Greggs and get a pack of 4 sausage rolls - I love them and I'll be able to each a couple on the coach to Gatwick too. Plus I'll get some Walkers crisps and some Nature Valley granola bars. I'll get a drink airside at the airport.
