car hire depot near port canaveral

trying to find out which are the closest car depots to port canaveral. want to get a car hire after cruise which we can drop off at airport at end of holiday.

So far I have heard people talk of Budget only, i have been looking no Netflights and they have quoted me with Thrifty, can anyine tell me if there rental is close to the port and if they have used them before and as with some of the others do they have a shuttle pick up from the ship.

I believe most of the major players have depots near the port -here's some information taken from the Disboard :

Car Rental
All agree that the cheapest option is to rent a car one-way from the airport, drive to the port, drop luggage/family off at port, drop rental car off and take rental car shuttle back to the port. Repeat in reverse for your post-cruise trip back to the airport. Hertz, Budget, Thrifty, Avis & Enterprise, all have drop off locations and free round trip shuttles very close to the port (companies are listed in order of closeness to the port). These four places are open on Sundays and their port shuttles start early in the morning until the afternoon.

The new GM IAN SAM who worked at the Orlando airport for 12 years has now been transfered here to the Cape Canaveral office and he is the one that will work with you if there is problems or questions.

UPDATE 01/06/2009
Due to the overbooking of 12/27/2008, I am suggesting that somehow get a written guarantee on Thrifty/Dollar that you will be notified that there are no cars available. I do NOT know if this can be done,
but until I heard from the Higer Ups, I am a little hesitate to add any more recommendations for Thrifty/Dollar
If anyone else has a problem, please let me know ASAP.
