Question Some questions from Dot...help appreciated

we have booked the 3 night wonder cruise for the 10th sep and can not wait - a holiday within a holiday how fab! we have hundreds of questions and one dibb member has already kindly answered some of them but here are a few more now i have had time to look a bit of info up as we booked on a whim.
if we use room servcie - how much do we tip is $2-$3 enough each time/ tray / person and do you have to pay for the coffee / soda on room servcie?
we are on desk 8 close to the front and starboard i think room 8520 is this close to the beverage station on deck 9 ( hubby likes his coffee and after coming from a villa where we make our own all the time i am now wondering how we do this apart from room servcie)
also how early can you get to the port to check in will 10-30 be too early - i have read they board at 12 and opene the cabins up at 13-30 also is the spa worth the $$ and if you had to choose just one treatment what would it be -i dont fancy the cabana massage but the balcony with the hot tub sounds nice but it would be me and my dd not hubby i think and one last question for now is the in room decorations worth the $ DD will have her birthday when we are away ( not on the cruise but whilst on holiday ) so i am thinking of getting the in room decs and maybe the keepsake gift box - sorry for all the questions but any help will be great

Hi Dot, sorry I missed this before but it would probably be seen better in the general cruise forum If I could remember how to split this post I would!

Anyway, to answer some of your questions for now...

tips for room service: a couple of dollars is fine, coffee is free but I think you pay for sodas (please correct me if Im wrong...dont have my book to hand!)

I have a feeling the soda station is toward the back of the ship so may be a little way from your cabin. Room service is very good though and we always ordered coffee the night before, for our bf the next day (if you see what I mean)

We normally get to the port very early (thats just us tho). 10.30 will be fine. Last time we cruised they gave out random numbered cards and you boarded when they called your number. We are normally on board by 12 ish.

I love the spa and the cabana massage is my fave If not, I'd choose the couples cabana and I don't see why you and dd shouldn't share it. Its quite romantic tho with a large double 'bed' on the balcony, as well as the hot tub and treatment beds, rose petals etc. I've also had great manicure and pedicures, hair done and facials...all great!

I've not had a room decorated but have ordered stateroom gifts from a company called the perfect gift, based in Canaverel. Shirley is a darling and will help with anything you request.

Please ask lots of questions, its what we're here for!

$2-3 is absolutely fine (per order)

The beverage station, like Angel says, is towards the back so I would order room service each time for definite. It's not that good either from the beverage station!

We left dead early as I wanted Boarding Card Number 2 (number 1's are VIPs). We got there at around 10.30am, parked up and enjoyed the empty terminal for ages. We got great pictures of the model ship without loads of people in the way.

Like Angel says, it's quite romantic so I would give it a miss if you're not going to use it with DH.

I would definitely order room decs but not a keepsake box. They don't hold very much so you could buy your own somewhere else much cheaper. We didn't have the room decs but we saw some and they looked smashing. We had the white chocolate champagne 'glass' which was yum yum!

You can find loads of photos of us arriving and other things in the link below (in my sig). Have a fantastic time .. I know you will.

We had the room decorations and they were great! We got the Bon Voyage ones and the room was decorated for when we arrived, we also got buckets from The Perfect Gift for the kids and they werte fantastic!

I got the keepsake box for myself and the cap for DH, the box is a nice set - I agree though it doesn't hold a great deal.

Enjoy DCL is fab!
