Hi Clare. I have never been a great traveller in the water and always used to get very sick on ferry crossings. Did a 2 weeks caribbean cruise about 6 years ago and was really nervous about how I would be. Shouldn't have worried as there was only one night when I felt sick and it really was a choppy sailing night - other than that didn't know you were on a boat most of the time.
I have also decided to book the Disney wonder cruise for December 2010 - we are sailing on the 16th December 2010 - what dates are you thinking about it? Might see u on there.

I swear by travel sickness bands and ginger ale. Got us through the bad weather we had on the TA in 2007.
Personally I got sick on my first Disney cruise but since then have had no problems. The bands really seemed to help as did drinking ginger ale with meals. |

The bigger the ship the less it will move. Most ferrys are fairly small in comparison to cruise ships so they tend to move a bit more. Disney ships are 83k ton, most ferrys are less than 20k ton. Cruise ships do still move quite a bit but as said above alot of it depends where your cruising. You will feel the ship moving though.
Oh and they are ships not boats. Boats are what you get in when the ship sinks

if you feel sea sick get into the swimming pool you then can't feel any movement and some how it helps the balance when you get out.
