Watch for 21st
Hi,
We are thinking of buying our dd a nice watch for her birthday. Wonder if anyone has any recommendations? Earlier in year, I was thinking michael kors, but now they are so popular I am not so sure. About 4 years ago we bought her a toy watch from selfridges for over £100, and she stopped wearing it because of cheap copies One of her uni friends has just been given a Hermes Birkin for her 21st! Cannot give our dd anything of that scale unfortunately Sue |

I bought myself a Citizen watch last summer. It looks nice enough to wear for more formal events which was what I was looking for really (and certainly a lot nicer that my digital Timex watch...)! Plus it was on sale, which is always a bonus...

I read on a thread a few months ago about buying watches. The Dibber suggested buying at Macy's, as you can get your tax discount voucher from customer services, making it cheaper.

Not many of my daughters friends even wear a watch any more, it's all done with the ubiquitous phone.

Thank everyone,
I will have to do some research I think! I understand about using phones instead of a watch, so it is something to consider. She doesn't wear jewellery, and hubby doesn't want to buy her a bag ( was thinking a mulberry). So we are at a loss as what to buy her! Sue |

What about getting her a decent secondhand one. Cartier tank watches can be had from £300 up.
