Ah that's ok I am still in Florida flight mode when it's 11 months before haha! I will keep an eye on it.
Eurostar is looking preferable at the moment x

Whereas with flying I would still have to figure out airport transfers. (Also I really, really, do not like flying through CDG...)
Yes it does sound a lot easier and with a 5 year old I want it to be as easy as possible

Flying is also quicker for us. 2 hours to EDI, 2 hours flight and 1.5hour checkin, 1.5 hours luggage and transfer. Train to London alone is 4 hours.
Flights definitely sound easier for you, you'll be there a lot quicker than if you had to go via London!

Is Eurostar usually more expensive than flying? Can you get up and walk about like it's a train?
I live in Watford so not too far from you and we always take the eurostar. It's so easy to get into Central London and I love the fact that you only have to check in 45 mins before and, as you keep your luggage with you on the train, you just get off and don't have to go through immigration or buggage reclaim.

It's also lovely that the direct eurostar takes you straight to the gates of the park, rather than having to deal with a further transfer. You can then get the RER into Paris from the same station.

I've been to DLP a few times and every time used the Eurostar, it's a doddle and I really enjoy it. However for our upcoming trip we are flying because it cut literally hundreds off of the cost. Maybe because it's in half term and I've only ever been out of season before? But from what I gather, CDG to DLP is very easy, the fast train takes less than 10 minutes and a taxi is just over half an hour.

We have used both. I would go Eurostar over flights. I live in London but not too far from Heathrow. Eurostar takes you directly to DLP. If you fly you need to sort out transport to DLP at an extra cost. We have also traveled via Lille and Paris. If you travel via Lille you will either change at Lille Europe where the Eurostar comes in or take a short walk to Lille Flanders. If you return via Lille you do passports and security at Lille.
If you go via Paris you have to go one stop From Gare Du Nord to Chatlet les Halles and walk across the platform To get your next train. You have to pay extra for this at Gare Du Nord. You reverse it on the way back and do passports at Gare Du Nord. There are more special offers to Gare Du Nord. Watch some trip videos to give you an idea of what to expect.

It's all down to personal preference these days.

If you want to go to Paris I would prefer to do that on a different trip than DLP but then I don't like the hassle of transferring from one place to another using public transport - especially when I only have a smattering of the local language.

I would prefer to drive (via Eurotunnel) to DLP and take a day trip to Paris - quite a lot of people do this.

The train is the next easiest. You can get up and walk around. IIRC the food (certainly first-class) was pretty good.

The plane is the last resort as you have to be there at the airport so long before the flight and as already been mentioned you have a very limited carry.

As I said, it is all down to personal circumstance and choice.

You are the next town along, got my Christmas party in December in watford!

It sounds so much easier and no immigration too. Does the RER into Paris take long? X

I think it may come down to price, dependant on how much each one comes up at. Lots of options need to get a Disney notebook going 😀
